Part of the Servicing series on the Mobtag platform.

In short: Your brand in the field is the person in the van and the PDF the customer files. If those are not the same story as your internal case system, you will re-argue the same work order every time the contract is up for review.

A visit should append to a single timeline: readings, checklists, photos, and a signed handoff, all on the asset the end customer is allowed to see on scan. The anti-pattern is “the truth in the service app, the nice report in a folder, and a CRM ticket that is only half the picture.”

What the customer is buying

  • “When was this last properly seen, by whom?”
  • “What did we measure, not what we summarised in an email to win the renewal?”
  • A chain a dispute can follow without three departments joining a call.
Step If it is only in someone’s head / inbox, you are exposed
Missed a step in the checklist Next visit starts blind
Photo in a personal camera roll The asset record is incomplete for warranty
PDF in a one-off file share The next engineer cannot trust last time’s outcome

Summary: Every service visit should add to the one asset file the client can open on scan—your repeat business depends on boring continuity, not heroics the customer never sees.
