Part of the Compliance series on the Mobtag platform.
In short: Ex work involves process, electrical, and H&S—and often three different comfort zones in Word. A shared profile per ex-rated item, with gated forms, keeps the same serial the maintenance plan, the last inspection, and the incident log all refer to.
When something goes wrong in a zoned area, the question is not only “what did the last report say” but “who touched this asset, in what part of the permit system, and with what evidence still attached to the thing?” If that answer is a hunt across mailboxes, you are exposed.
| Discipline | What a single record gives them |
|---|---|
| Ex / process engineering | Gland, motor tag, replacement history, photos in context |
| Electrical / inspection | Isolation, test, sign-off, next due in one look |
| Operations | Status without a side spreadsheet of “reality” |
Summary: Ex inspections are shared responsibility; the tool should be one scan entry and one current truth—or you will re-learn the same lesson every time the plant layout changes and the file share does not.
